Maybe this happened for a reason. Why didn't Noah's Arc try to get recording artists from our own community? We have good as hip-hop, dance, gospel artist in our own community that really need a chance and exposure. I am sure the music is of quality and would get cleared. i think if they played there own artist from the community, the artists would finally get the support from all of us they deserve.

I am dissatisfied with labels like Rocafella who won't support a gay black show. This is symptomatic of continued problems in black America as a whole. The homophobia that rampages through our society is terrible and dismal. We have to change this attitude. Isn't interesting how many music labels, advertisers, etc. supported shows like "Queer as Folk and Will and Grace."
I also agree with what Tina said above about black gays seeking help from the plethora of black and latino gay and lesbian music artists.
I know it's going to take a long time to eradicate the homophobia that blacks gay and lesbians the worst from our own fellow black Americans.

It will always be tough. Just like the civil rights movement. Still till this day we are still fighting that somewhat.

I think the reason they didn't allow their artists music to be used for Noah's Arc because to a certain extent they expected the project to be a for us by us project showcasing our own gay black talents we have within our community there by even further strenghtening our image & our voice in the sight of many who either try say we were brainwashed into to our sexuality by caucasians or we are just confused bout our sexuality or that we are all just an effeminate caricature of who we really are in certain instances. It's ashamed that we should have to even have show's like Noah's Arc that is sort of a for us by us type project. Why can't everybody just make entertaiment that truly reflects all of society instead of people's personal limited view of what society truly is ... diversified.

Those same folks who refuse to lend Noah their label music probably once belonged to a family that depended everynowandthen on their gay uncle to put food on the table when the foodstamps was late or when their str8 daddy or str8 older brother spent the money on booze and freakish women. You can't expect everybody to be so happy and gay about being gay, after all people can imagine what gay men do to eachother. I think that the series Noah's Arc should use the expressions of music within our community. I think in a lifestyle or life-choice (which ever you deem appropriate) we have countless men and women that are gifted and talent to offer assistance. It is so weird because many years ago a good friend of mine did a "house track" entitled Din Da Da. Wow, the next thing I hear on the radio is the Ying Yang Twins rapping to this homosexual man's tracks not to mention the fact that now cingular has incorporated the same track into one of their advertisement. Lets use and support our OWN.

Uh Kanye West is probably gay really deep inside if he was made fun of in high school about being a fag.

At first I wanted to be mad when I read this article about Roc-A-Fella not wanting their music to be played on Noah's Arc, but after I thought about it, I realized it's okay. We as a people need to do for ourselves anyhow, and stop looking for acceptance in from society as a whole. Society does not want to mess up their perception of what is to be black and gay in the new millenium. If Roc-A-Fella allowed their artist's music to be played and word got out, what does that say about them as a whole? That they actually accept us as people? That they condone gayness as being alright? Phuck 'em as far as I'm concerned. I love Noah's Arc, and the music that they've played so far is phenomenal. Besides, it won't be okay for Roc-A-Fella to start letting their music be played on the show until the white establishment says it's okay. So whatever the talented powers that be at Noah's is doing, keep doing the damn thing. I am definitely a loyal fan and will continue to be one as long as they keep the quality coming.
