Let Me Introduce Myself
Just to give everyone an idea of who's doing this blog, I am Quentin DeVaughan (you can call me Q), the founder of FO' brothas.com. The Web site is the first of it's kind, making a positive difference in the lives of same-gender loving men of color, while strengthening their acceptance within the community, assisting them in becoming confident, self-loving and healthy individuals, primarily through providing top-notch resources, education, advocacy and health and wellness promotion on the Internet.
In addition, I'm the visionary behind OPERATION: REBIRTH, which was co-created with Tuan 'N Gai of Biazo Ministries (Proof that we all can work together for a cause). OPERATION: REBIRTH is the first Web site dedicated to ending the religious and spiritual abuse against black gays and lesbians inflicted by Black churches. The Web site provides resources that assist black gays and lesbians on reclaiming their religion and spirituality. OPERATION: REBIRTH can also be seen as a watch dog within the black church, holding our religious leaders responsible for their anti-gay abuse from the pulpit.
OPERATION: REBIRTH has received recognition from community and religious leaders and organizations such as the Human Rights Campaign and the National Black Justice Coalition.
All that I do for the community is out of love, not financial gain. FO' brothas.com was created when I was 24 years-old during a one year stint of unemployment in 2002 after the dot-com bust and OPERATION: REBIRTH was completed on zero resources except for the knowledge that I and others possess in 2004. Both sites are ran in my spare time with no outside funding. And lastly for the credential-focused people, I hold both, a bachelor degree in Marketing and another in Finance.
I say all of this to hopefully provide some sort of inspiration to those that would like to participate in the advancement of our people. Inventory your own skills and talents, then see where you can use them in the community. No talent is too small to help. No idea is too dumb to spark change. No ones ego is greater than your own love for your people.
And to my other brothas already in the struggle, keep your head up and continue to fight with integrity.

Q I too am very happy to have come across this site I can tell you put a lot of effort into it because it shows in the quality of information and resources. do you have one of those paypal links for donations on your main page ? I think a lot of people dont know they can send $5, $10, $20 or some change to their favorite sites for support.
